Ingredients:
Rolled oats
Water
Yoghurt (any kind will do)
Optional:
Raisins
Dried fruit
Other cereals (I like multigrain flakes, rice puffs, shredded wheat, granola)
Nuts
Fresh, tinned, defrosted or stewed fruit
Jam
Maple syrup
Honey
Method:
Into a tub or jar (I use an old yoghurt pot), pour your oats and any other dry ingredients you want to use (raisins, dried fruit, cereals, etc.)
Add cold water on top until the mixture is just covered
Leave in the fridge with a lid on for at least five hours
Serve with some yoghurt and any other ingredients you wish to add
Serving sizes, proportions and specific ingredients are entirely up to you - experiment!
One of my recent favourites is oats with a mixture of other cereals and plenty of raisins served with vanilla yoghurt and maple syrup. Delicious!
Can be very healthy (depending on what you add to it), super easy, cheap and full of slow-release energy to keep you going all morning!
